SLOW COOKED BEEF POUTINE

Delight your guests with Canada’s classic comfort food by serving this hearty and delicious dish for a meal or party snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Double Red 1904® Flat Iron Strips
  • 1 white onion; diced
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch or flour for thickening
  • 6 ounces white cheese curds
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley; chopped
  • 1 24 ounce bag of French fries

Instructions

  1. Season flat iron strips with salt and pepper, and place in a slow cooker along with beef stock for 6-8 hours.
  2. Cook French fries according to package directions and keep warm.
  3. Whisk together water and cornstarch or flour and then stir into broth and beef mixture until mixture becomes thickened and forms a gravy.
  4. Season fries to taste, and place in a serving dish topped with beef and gravy mixture and cheese curds.
  5. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top if desired.
